We were created to give credit unions and their business members all across the United States unprecedented treasury management capabilities and expertise.

The market for quality Treasury Management solutions in the commercial, public, and not-for-profit sectors is dominated by large national and regional banks. Credit unions and community banks have traditionally not had the scale, investment capabilities, or expertise to compete for business deposits. Until now.

 

Established by Credit Unions for Credit Unions, Tru Treasury aims to shift the paradigm. Our singular focus is equipping community financial providers with the tools, expertise, and products to deliver leading treasury solutions to the businesses they serve.  At Tru Treasury, our mission is to provide credit unions with treasury management expertise and the scalability to grow.

Chief Executive Officer

John Ballantyne

John has led the charge for this start-up company. He has over 16 years of senior leadership experience in the financial services industry, leading underwriting, treasury management, and payments organizations. He was the Head of Treasury Solutions Proposal Management at SunTrust Bank, successfully leading an $18M initiative to establish sales and product governance standards across multiple operating lines of business. 

 

As a proud Veteran of the War in Iraq, John continues to serve our country as a Field Grade Officer in the Army Reserves. He has earned two rotary-wing aviator certifications (UH-60 and CH-47) from the US Army Flight School.

Kathy La Pine

Kathy has over 25 years of commercial banking leadership experience specializing in treasury management sales and products. She spent most of her career with LaSalle Bank and Bank of America, two industry-leading treasury management institutions. In recent years, she has consulted with community banks and credit unions to design and implement their own competitive treasury management product and sales organization.

Jeff Sharkey, CTP

Jeff is a Certified Treasury Professional with over 13 years of treasury management expertise in sales, service, and product management. He is involved with several treasury management initiatives that guide community financial institutions into the treasury management space. In 2017, he assisted Team One Credit Union in developing and launching their Treasury Management program. He is an Executive Board Member of the Great Lakes Association for Financial Professionals. 

Vice President / Treasury Consultant

Greg Conant, CTP

Greg is a Certified Treasury Professional with over 15 years of treasury management advisory and consulting experience. His career has focused on consulting with business clients to streamline operations, reduce risk, and improve profitability. His experience includes designing and implementing complex working capital management solutions using leading-edge automation and emerging treasury technologies for the business banking and middle-market segments. He is a member of the Great Lakes Association for Financial Professionals.

Vice President / Treasury Consultant

Jack Li, CTP

Jack is a Certified Treasury Professional with over seven years of treasury management expertise in advisory, implementation, and sales. He specializes in working capital and cash conversion optimization by presenting intellectual leadership and strategies that focus on profitability improvement. He has represented both national banks and community banks with various asset/revenue sizes throughout his career. Jack is a member of the Tampa Bay Association for Financial Professionals.

Rob Conrad

Rob has over 10 years of operations experience with small and large financial institutions. His expertise includes risk underwriting, proposal development, pricing strategy development, and product management. His focus is on product integration, business operations, technology development, and business member onboarding

Alexis Leonard

Alexis is an engagement and brand strategist with her master's in New Product Development. Her career is focused on working with companies and their clients to grow their professional brands and implement new offerings. Her experience includes managing the launch of new products, creating and developing course solutions, product designs, graphic designs, websites, and social media content. 

Treasury Analyst

Kimberly Miller

Kim has over 10 years in the credit union industry. Her expertise includes training, compliance and retention, project management, product implementation, and creating a world-class member experience. Kim focuses on supporting business operations, product integration, and business member onboarding.
